History
Pine Bluffs Distilling did not start with a long lineage or a family surname. It's about the courage to do something new. It began as small home setups and has grown into a distillery that supports its local community. Imagined as a corner of Wyoming, they proudly work to be from Pine Bluffs and create spirits that reach beyond the country’s borders.
Production and Manufacturing
They handle the entire process from grain to glass and do not buy malt, which makes them self-sufficient and masters of the craft as a whole. They never chill-filter and choose not to remove what gives fruit and woodiness in the flavor. The mash is always kept sweet, producing a cleaner and more complex flavor profile that carries through into the bottle and to the drinker. The core of their approach is natural, fully integrated production – a Farm to Flask philosophy in Wyoming.
Products and Whisky Series
They produce a range of products: American Single Malt Whiskey, Ryed Bourbon, Wheated Bourbon, Oat Whiskey, Straight Rye Whiskey, 5 Grain Whiskey, Gin and Vodka. Straight Rye Whiskey is a Double Gold-winner, described as a true Wyoming rye made with local grains and recognized by the American Distilling Institute as an excellent example in its class. It is a rye-forward, bold and spicy whiskey.
Tasting Notes and Style
Straight Rye Whiskey presents a clearly spicy profile and a bold personality.
Visits and Experiences
In addition to production, they offer experiences around the Barrel Pick program, where customers have the opportunity to taste different whiskeys straight from the barrel, select the perfect barrel, bottle and label the bottle, and arrange branding. The whole process takes several months, and the program allows you to obtain up to 250 bottles with your own brand.
Philosophy
The core of Pine Bluffs Distilling is to support the local community by using local grains, creating local jobs, and operating with transparency. They are proud to be a fully integrated producer, going from grain to glass and clearly communicating what they do.
